Editorial Standards

Professionally grounded. Thoughtfully written. Made for everyday life.

At JoyClik™, we create educational articles, journals, guides and practical tools to help you understand yourself, build everyday wellbeing skills and cultivate a more supportive environment.

These standards explain how we create and review our content, what informs it and where its role begins and ends.

Written and reviewed by Jeny Bluebridge

JoyClik’s educational content is written and reviewed by Jeny Bluebridge, JoyClik founder and qualified counsellor.

Jeny brings her counselling experience and ongoing professional learning to the development of our resources. Her work now focuses on education rather than client-facing counselling.

Writing and review are carried out by the same author. This is an editorial review for accuracy, clarity, relevance and appropriate boundaries; it does not imply independent clinical or medical review.

What counselling-informed means

Counselling-informed means our content draws on knowledge, principles and skills used within counselling, adapted appropriately for general education and self-reflection.

This includes respect for individual experiences, emotional awareness, compassionate communication, personal choice and practical skill-building. It also means recognising that people have different needs, cultures, relationships and circumstances.

The term describes the foundation and approach of our resources. Reading an article or using a JoyClik journal does not constitute counselling or establish a counsellor–client relationship.

What evidence-informed means

Evidence-informed means relevant, credible research helps shape what we share, alongside professional knowledge and consideration of everyday circumstances.

We consider the quality, relevance and limitations of the evidence - not simply whether a study supports a particular claim. Where research is developing, mixed or limited, we aim to make that clear.

Evidence informing a technique or concept does not mean a particular JoyClik product has been clinically tested. Our resources support learning and reflection; they do not promise a particular outcome.

How we choose our sources

We use credible, reputable sources to support factual and research-based claims. These include peer-reviewed research, recognised professional bodies, public health organisations and established academic or clinical institutions.

Where available and relevant, we prioritise research reviews and established guidance over isolated findings. We consider when a source was published, the people and circumstances it relates to, and whether its conclusions support the wording we use.

References and further reading help readers explore key information for themselves. We distinguish research findings from professional interpretation, practical suggestions and reflection prompts.

Updates and corrections

Knowledge develops, and our content may need to develop with it.

We review and update content when we identify outdated information, discover an error or become aware of new evidence or guidance that materially changes what readers need to know. Reviews are prompted by these developments rather than a fixed review schedule.

For substantive changes, we update the article’s review or updated date and, where helpful, explain the correction.

If you notice something that may need attention, please email care@joyclik.com with the page link and a brief explanation.

Education and professional care

JoyClik’s focus is education: helping you build understanding, practise useful skills and cultivate routines, relationships and surroundings that support wellbeing.

Our articles and resources do not provide individual assessment, diagnosis, treatment or clinical interventions. They cannot take account of your full personal or health history, and they do not replace a relationship with an appropriately qualified professional.

You can use our resources independently or alongside professional care. If difficulties persist, worsen or affect daily life, a qualified health or mental health professional can help you explore support suited to your circumstances.

Further information is available in our Professional & Medical Disclaimer.

Ethical care, privacy and public comments

Our educational work remains guided by counselling ethics, including respect, honesty, cultural sensitivity, personal autonomy, appropriate boundaries and care to avoid harm.

We take privacy seriously. However, public comments, reviews and social media interactions are not confidential counselling spaces. Information shared there may be visible to others, copied or redistributed, so we cannot promise confidentiality in those settings.

Please avoid posting sensitive personal information or identifying details about children or other people. Email and contact forms are also not channels for confidential counselling or clinical support. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.

JoyClik’s comments and messages are not monitored as a crisis service. If you need urgent support, contact an appropriate local crisis service or emergency service.

Our aim is to offer thoughtful, trustworthy education that supports your choices and helps make everyday life feel a little more manageable.
